Using a domain you already own
Your project can answer on your own address instead of the one we hand out.
What it is for
Customers trust the name they already know. A shop is easier to believe at its own address.
It is also the address you can print on a card or a sign.
The published project answers there, with a certificate, once ownership is proved.
What you need
A domain you already bought, and access to wherever its DNS records are edited.
We do not sell domains. Buy it wherever you like.

- Permission to edit its DNS records — usually where you bought it
- A published project for the address to point at
The order to do it in
Publish the project first. There has to be something for the address to point at.
Add the domain here, copy the two records shown, add them at your DNS provider, then wait for the check.
A name with www and one without are two different addresses. To serve both, register both.
How to check it worked
The domain stays pending until both records are visible, then turns active.
The check is a real lookup of those records. Writing them down here is not enough.
Records are re-checked about every six hours. If they vanish, the domain does not stay active on trust.
What it will not do
- A certificate is only issued for an active domain. That is what stops endless requests.
- Up to 20 domains per project.
- DNS changes take their own time. Nothing here makes your provider faster.
- Email is separate. Pointing the domain here does not route mail for it.
